Mode of study, facilitation and list of resources:
A comprehensive Study Manual for the study of Montessori philosophy, theory and
practice in Montessorian Education. Home Study Pack will be provided for those
registered under distance education program.
Students who registered as part guided distance students can attend classes /
seminars covering each area of study as scheduled throughout the year at their
nearest home location. See Seminar Schedule.
For those enrolled in the full distance education mode of study, online mentoring
support will be provided by Accredited Montessorian Trainers / Certified Montessorian
Educators who can answer questions, and offer directed learning and practical
helps at allocated hours.
Montessorian
World Education's Workshops are organized periodically at Montessorian World Country
/ Education host locations or Montessorian World's approved Training Centres.
These Workshops comprise of face to face curriculum classes that provide demonstrations
of all lessons, student practice, and making of teaching materials. See Workshop
Schedule.
Upon satisfactory completion of all curriculum classes and Home Study in the course
which students are enrolled in, students may apply to take the written, oral and
practical examination. Montessorian World International will allocate the Examiners
to assess the competency level and the issuance of Certification thereon for successful
participants.
Study Pack and Attendance at Workshop/Seminar are payable
on registration. The Assessment fee is payable three months before the Examination
Period.
Generally for Competency Level I to III, the examination consists
of three parts,
a) a two hours written examination on Montessori Theory and
methodology, b) a comprehensive oral examination requiring precise presentation
and use of the teaching materials, and c) the completion and presentation of required
handmade curriculum materials. The scope and the expectation for each Competence
Level are detailed in the Education Manual.
Assessment of Competency and Membership Certification
The
Assessment Format is designed to determine the Competency Level of skills, knowledge
and aptitude of the applicant. There are five main categories of Competence Assessment
and Award.
Those successfully completed an approved course from other local
learning institutions may apply for a formal assessment of Montessorian Competency
Level for Certificate Award and as Membership Entry into Montessorian World Education
and Fellowship program.
All applicants will be considered on a case by
case basis and are required to complete a Continual Montessorian Professional
Development program, submission of a practice workfile and or an oral presentation
in the assessment process.
Practicum
and Internship
As
a form of internship program for potential teachers, teaching practicum can be
arranged at one of the Montessorian World International's Certified / Affiliation
Partners' schools. This program provides students the opportunity to observe children
and trained teachers at work. Guided training and supervision from the school
director and daily discussions. Trainers' Practium is separately designed for
obervation of delivery skills and practices of effective training. Feedback will
be provided. |
